Watercolor Swap.
Christmas in April? POSSIBLE. It happened. It felt like I was in an Oprah show - for real.
I was invited by my former teacher Alessa Lanot of Life After Breakfast to a watercolor swap last April 28 at the newly renovated PIPINO Restaurant. Basically, the Swap concept is for you to give your watercolored artworks to fellow artists and in return, get artworks from them too. HOW COOL IS THAT?! I went there thinking we will just swap and do some painting.. but in the end, I went home a bag full of beautiful artworks from talented artists and a bag of goodies:
Mug, Notebook, and Magazine from Herschel Philippines
Notebook from The Lunch Break Project
Dish & Brush Cleaner and The Little Warrior Sanitizer from Messy Bessy
Paper Palette, Watercolor Pad, and Dr. Ph Martin's Radiant Watercolor from Craft Carrot
Washi Tape from HeyKessy
Gift Card from Havaianas
Vegan Cookies, Chips, and Black Bean Bagoong from Pipino
Leatherette Brush roller with 3 brushes from Life After Breakfast
I also won a prize (for designing the tote bag) from HeyJow
Here are the artworks I got from my swapmates: Valerie Chua, Alessa Lanot, Alexis Ventura, Macy Alcaraz, Fran Alvarez, Abbey Sy, Iori Espiritu, Cynthia Arre, and Yas Doctor.
Special shout out to the ever generous June Digan, Wiji Alviar, and Jamie Catt for giving me their artworks too!
Other awesome artists who attended the event: Arlene Sy, Lorra Angbue-Te, Megan Dino, Tippy Go, Louie Anne Garcia, and Soleil Ignacio.
There was a DIY Tattoo printing station, Tote bag stamping station, and lots of watercolor fun! Best part? FOOD. I am no vegan but I really really really LOVED the food - especially the MANGO SOY ICE CREAM! I gave my donut paintings to my swapmates + paper samplers for everyone.
